Buck & Bette (pronounced "Betty") is a new retail shop in historic downtown Charleston, W.Va. We’re located right beside the Capitol Theater at 123 Summers Street, Suite 100.
We carry fancy and staple goods for Appalachian life: home, apparel, accessories, and both custom and ready-to-buy paper products. We only platform brands we have fallen in love with - nearly all of which you can’t find anywhere else in the Kanawha Valley.
We are thrilled to open this intimate little shop named for Cleve’s (one of our owners) grandparents after many years of dreaming.
Born and Married in W.Va.
Buck & Bette Persinger were married in 1936 in Pendleton County, W.Va. They were so very proud of West Virginia and brought a sophistication to their Appalachian hospitality.
You’ll see photos of Buck & Bette around the store, quips through our social media, and a glimpse into their lives in our products, furniture, and customized service we offer by way of Buck & Bette LLC.
“There is more to be desired than mere selling. An abiding friendship is valued far above profit.” (Miller & Rhoads department store philosophy found on the back of each sales ticket - Bette’s employer for many years)
